The company’s anime-influenced psychological horror feature will take part in the first Nordic Genre Lab during Finnish Film Affair in Helsinki.
We’re very happy to share that Fiilin Good Films’ animated psychological horror feature Echo Chamber has been selected for the first edition of Nordic Genre Lab.
The selection was announced today by Screen International / ScreenDaily, with additional coverage from ScreenAnarchy.
Nordic Genre Lab is a new training and networking programme for Nordic producer–director teams developing genre feature films. The first edition takes place in Helsinki on 24–25 September 2026, during Finnish Film Affair, the industry event of Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy.
Echo Chamber is directed by Juha Fiilin, written by Adam Cullen, and produced by Juha Fiilin and Debbie Stephens for Fiilin Good Films Oy. The project’s art direction is led by Jan Andersson.
The film is an anime-influenced psychological survival horror animation about two sisters caught in a terrifying curse, where grief, fear and supernatural forces begin to distort the world around them. The project combines Nordic landscapes, psychological horror, emotional drama and nightmarish visual design into an intensively animated feature for young adult and adult audiences.
At its heart, Echo Chamber is a psychological horror story about grief, sisterhood and survival — combining emotional drama, supernatural threat and anime-influenced visual storytelling.
Being selected for Nordic Genre Lab is an important step for the project. The Lab will support the next stage of development through international mentoring, workshops, pitch training, matchmaking and industry exposure during Finnish Film Affair.
We are looking forward to developing the project further through the Lab and connecting with genre, animation, sales, financing and co-production partners.
